Most people simply assume you must snore all night. But if you actually take the time to notice you’ll find out that that isn’t true at all.

You don’t snore all night – that’d probably drive your significant other crazy! You usually only snore for a few hours of your normal 6-9 hour period.

The reason you don’t snore all the time is because you are always on the move while you sleep. Even if you don’t think you are you most likely are moving at least once an hour while you sleep.

Whether it’s just titling your head or whether your moving your body completely you are always moving.

Remember that you snore usually because your tounge falls back and vibrates loudly while you breath in and out.

So moving your head will make your tongue fall from where it was very slightly. It will eventually fall back into place and you’ll start to snore again…

So how can you try and stop snoring all together?

Well it’s not too hard.

All you need to do is keep your mouth closed.

Now there’s a few different ways you can go about doing that.

You could, of course, try and duck tape your mouth closed. Although that could be funny, and i’ve seen it done before, that may not be something you’ll want to do for many nights in a row. (Obviously.)

What I think you should probably do is get a jaw supporter. Something that will keep your jaw shut without the sticky mess left behind. Now how you do this can be in a variety of different ways.

Some jaw supporters won’t work as well as others and some haven’t even really been tested to their fullest extent. What I would suggest doing is finding out that has been tested by the average Joe like you and me and that has been proven to work.

There’s a link to the right for a real good one.

Sometimes I love the internet and sometimes I literally just hate it.

While I was doing a little research on snoring for everyone here I came across all these little myths that thousands of people reported trying.

Some of these were just funny to hear and others were kind of scary. I mean some people were trying to plug their nose AND mouth with cotton balls to make their snoring quieter.

Um yeah it’ll do just that because you won’t be able to breath and you’ll die!

Some of these myths simply don’t make sense and like I said some are dangerous.

Here is what I really think you should do.

Go online, since your already here, and look around a little at the “authority sites” or the sites where people actually go.

Learn a little and see what causes snoring. It’s not just some magical thing that happens to most people. It’s a scientific thing that can be stopped rather easily.

Once your done your research you should have a good idea concerning what snoring is and how you can stop it. Once you have that down just look for a product to help you out.

The great thing about the online marketplace is that anyone, and I mean anyone, can come online and just search for hours and hours and find the best product for the best price.

Since everything is so out in the open it really is no problem at all.

I mean you can compare prices and read reviews and before you know it you’ll actually have an amazing product at your door and it’ll barely cost you a dime.

Now that’s the power of the internet and that is pretty darn cool in my honest opinion.

That’s why the internet was really created. To help people. And I think we’re getting to that stage right now.

Have you ever wondered how much your snoring can affect someone elses life?

Probably not and I really truly don’t blame you at all. Snoring is something that I never even thought about for many many years. In fact I often thought my wife didn’t mind me snoring at all. But it turns out it was something that she just was hiding from me for years.

She often used the example of, “Imagine someone just breathing heavily into your ear all night – that’d bother you, right?”

That was, apparently, what my snoring was like. And I still don’t really believe her – but I guess it was pretty bad.

She often told me that my snoring affected everything we did in our day to day lives and she wished I would simply stop.

Sometimes couples don’t bring up snoring because they know the person isn’t doing it on purpose.

Unlike maybe biting your finger nails snoring is something we can’t just control. It’s not like we do it for fun – but now that I think of it we don’t bite our finger nails for fun either, now do we?

Anyway back on topic.

To keep a healthy marriage there should be complete honesty and if you think something is wrong than you should fix it. It sounds silly but my marriage was very rocky for a very long time because my wife never brang up how much my snoring bothered her. And come to find out it was an awful lot!

That drove me to find a solution and eventually I did just that. I found something that worked for me and within weeks I was done snoring.

And my wife got a much better sleep!

…

This has been a guest post by a loyal reader who just wanted to share his story with everyone. If you’d like to write an article to put on here than simply send it to our e-mail and we’ll do just that.

Does snoring drive you crazy? Snoring is a common problem in many households, especially in those with two or more people. Statistics show that almost 50% of people snore occasionally, and 25% of the people surveyed are considered regular smokers. Snoring can be a real nuisance, disrupting precious sleep in our busy lives.

Good quality sleep is key to a healthy, active lifestyle. Good sleep boosts the immune system, helps your body recharge, prolongs life, aids concentration and promotes growth in children. Unfortunately, a snoring problem can severely impact your quality of sleep, leading to problems such as stress, tiredness, poor performance at work or school, irritability, loss of focus and lowered libido. Snoring has also been associated with marital stress. Can you imagine solving the snoring problem could lower the divorce rate in this country?

Snoring can also be a sign of more serious health problems such as weight issues, alcoholism, stroke, heart attacks, sleep apnea, interrupted breathing and blood pressure. The frequency and severity of snoring also increases with age, making it more important to address snoring problems as you grow older.

You’ve probably figured out by now that snoring is definitely a problem. So what causes snoring? Snoring is caused by the obstruction of airflow through the nose and mouth. Blockages in the airflow causes the throat to vibrate, resulting in the distinctive and all-too-familiar raspy sound you hear from your partner at night. How annoying!

Common causes of snoring include sleeping pills or antihistamines that relaxe the muscles of your throat, poor positioning of the jaws and uvula (that dangling flap in the back of your throat). Fatty throat tissue in the overweight, and sleeping on your back. Even tonsils can sometimes cause snoring!

If you’ve read this far, you are probably wondering what you can do to stop snoring. You are not alone- hundreds of products have recently flooded the market, promising an end to the snoring epidemic in our society today. From nasal strips to sprays, specially designed bedding and pillows, breathing masks, mouthpieces and breathing masks, even acupuncture and meditation- a wide selection of products await those who are willing to part with their money.

Most reputable medical doctors suggest healthy eating and weight loss. They suggest avoiding sleeping pills, abstain from smoking and avoiding food and alcohol for at least 4 hours before going to bed. Other common suggestions include sleeping on your side to free your tongue and elevating your head to open the airway. Last but not least, you have some doctors recommending surgery for those desperate (and sometimes gullible) enough to go for it.

For those who prefer natural remedies, various solutions are presented, with varying degrees of success. Herbal supplements, massages, acupuncture treatments and even aromatherapy have been suggested. One of the most straightforward solutions that have been suggested simply recommend a good pair of earplugs.

If you happen to suffer from snoring problems, don’t give up. If none of the suggestions in this article work for you, consult with your family physician or take part in a sleep study which will help you isolate the cause and possible solutions to your problem.

Every now and than i’m actually asked if you can stop snoring.

I always laugh a little because the answer is pretty darn obvious. Snoring is a problem just like chewing with your mouth open.

It can be fixed – if you want it to be.

But the main problem is that we are unaware of our snoring and can’t mentally tell our selves to not snore anymore.

What we need than is help…

…over the years you’ve probably seen, just like me, thousands of “stop snoring” products in the marketplace. I mean their everywhere.

To me, maybe i’m wrong, but pills to make you stop snoring just doesn’t seem logical.

How can pills stop you from snoring? And more importantly what is in them?!

What you really need is something physical you can wear.

…I’ve heard of a few different things working.

Some swear by those strips you put on your nose. While others call them complete scams.

But there’s one thing no one can deny works – it’s just a matter of if you want to spend a little more for it.

It’s a jaw supporter and it without a doubt will train you to stop snoring.

…Before going to bed you simply put on a jaw supporter and it holds your jaw in place so you don’t snore. It can’t not work – think about it.

These things work – but the main thing i’m told is that people look silly wearing them.

Which is true but it’s not like you have to wear them forever.

You have to, when your trying to stop eating with your mouth open, say to yourself over and over, “Close your mouth…”

Eventually you’ll get it and you won’t need to remind yourself anymore – it’ll be natural.

Same goes for snoring. It may take a week, it may take a month, but eventually you won’t need a jaw supporter. Your jaw will simply know what to do.

Isn’t our body an amazing thing?
